Cross a provincial line and three things change at once: the age at the casino door, the body that writes the rules, and the free number you would ring for help. Pick your destination below; each section opens with those rules and then lists the hotels we cover there.
British Columbia's door age is 19, BCLC manages the casinos and the IGCO regulates them. From June 2023, B.C. casinos have checked a government photo ID for each person coming in, matched against the province's restricted-entry list. Our two Lower Mainland hotels could hardly be less alike: one is a resort on a SkyTrain line, the other a modest hotel next to a neighbourhood casino.

Ontario gives you the most choice and the most variety. Sleep above the falls at Niagara; look over the water to Detroit from Windsor; stay racetrack-side in Etobicoke; book Ottawa's Hard Rock if your group is all adults; or head north to lake country at Rama. Every casino here is an OLG casino, the AGCO sets the rules, and you must be 19.

Eighteen is the age in Québec, where Loto-Québec runs the casinos and the RACJ supervises them. There is exactly one true casino hotel, in Gatineau, facing Ottawa across the river, where Casino du Lac-Leamy and a five-star Hilton form one building.
