How Casino Hotels Canada turns a hotel into points

Six criteria, six marks per hotel, each between 0 and 10. Each criterion owns a slice of the 100 points; multiply mark by slice, add the six results, round to a whole number, and that is the hotel's total. Comfort and the journey carry the biggest slices because they decide whether a stay works. Casino size carries the smallest.

What each mark looks at

Which sources win

Our pecking order: first the pages published by the hotel and by whoever operates the casino; second, the hotel brand and provincial tourism boards; last, newspapers and Wikipedia, always named when we use them. Conflicting sources (Lac-Leamy's room count is one example) are both printed. If a number isn't published anywhere, the page says "not published" rather than inventing one. Hotel facts in this edition date from 23 October 2026; the openings list from 28 October 2026.

Full disclosure: nobody from this site stayed at these hotels for this edition. Every guide is desk research from published material.

Money and the points

A hotel cannot pay for a mark, a placing or a mention. When a booking partner or a casino operator pays a referral fee, the marks stay exactly where they were; who pays us spells it out.
