The newest casino hotel on our list, and strictly for grown-ups: nobody under 19 gets in, hotel included. In return you get fresh rooms, a casino that never closes, a proper steakhouse and a music venue that books real names, all a short ride from Ottawa's airport.

Yes, ifWeekends for adults built around live music, a steak dinner and a casino that never closes.
No, ifYour group includes anyone under 19; here the limit applies in the hotel and restaurants too, not just on the floor.

The room to ask for

Of the 150 rooms, 22 are suites. The Deluxe rooms (king or queen beds) are 389 sq ft, about 36 m², and the queen version sleeps four. Silver Suites add a lounge; Gold Suites add a lounge, a bar corner and a freestanding tub. Through Hard Rock's "Sound of Your Stay" you can borrow vinyl or a guitar for the room. The rule that shapes everything: under-19s are refused everywhere on the site, from the lobby and rooms to the restaurants.

Swim, steam, unwind

Body Rock, the Technogym-equipped gym, opens 24 hours with your key card. We found no pool on the published amenity pages, so don't count on one.

Arriving and parking

Ottawa's airport is around two miles from the door. To reach the O-Train, use the property shuttle to Uplands or Leitrim station: card or tap only, C$5 per trip, or C$3.50 if you hold a Unity card. Valet works 24 hours, priced by loyalty tier: Icon and X free, Legend C$10, Star C$15, everyone else C$20. Two EV chargers are on site. Harness racing at the neighbouring raceway ended in March 2026.

Where to eat and drink

The signature room, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, takes its cue from the first Council Oak, at Seminole Hard Rock in Florida; Sunday brunch is 10:00–15:00. For something simpler: YOUYU Noodle Bar, Brick'd Italian Kitchen, the Hard Rock Cafe, and the Constant Grind café in the Marketplace, which never closes.

What's on stage

Hard Rock LIVE is a 23,000 sq ft hall: 2,200 people maximum, 1,900 when seated. For 25 to 400 people there's The Joint. Free music too: weekend nights on the stage in the Council Oak Lounge, and cover and tribute bands at the Cafe with no entry fee.

Downstairs: the gaming floor

The floor never shuts. More than 1,500 slots; tables for craps, mini baccarat, roulette and blackjack at any hour; a newly added baccarat room; VIP high-limit play. The loyalty club, Unity by Hard Rock, runs from Star through Legend and Icon to X, which is by invitation, and its tiers discount the shuttle and valet. It opened on 3 July 2025, a $350 million rebuild on the former Rideau Carleton casino site. Hard Rock International runs it for OLG; by Hard Rock's own description, no earlier Hard Rock resort in Canada was fully integrated.

Our take

Ottawa's newest rooms and, for a hotel this size, an unusually strong music calendar. Great for couples and groups of friends; a non-starter with children.
