The room to ask for

The resort says some rooms look west and, when the sky is clear, show the Rockies; the rest face the city, so ask for the west side. Pick from a Presidential Suite, a King Suite, or three room types: Standard Two Queen (marketed to families), Premier King and Standard King. The hotel calls all of them newly renovated. The hotel has six floors and 178 rooms and opened officially on 2 May 2014; the casino dates from 2007. The Tsuut'ina Nation owns and runs the whole resort.

Swim, steam, unwind

No hotel pool for now: it shut when the casino renovation began. Guests swim free at two city pools instead, Glenmore and Killarney. The sauna, the outdoor hot tub and the 24-hour gym are open.

Arriving and parking

Calgary International is 30 to 45 minutes away, Banff around an hour and Kananaskis Country about 30 minutes, which no other casino hotel on our list can claim. Parking is free, and pets stay on a dedicated pet floor.

Where to eat and drink

Little Chief blends modern cooking with Indigenous tradition and has had write-ups in Avenue Magazine and the Calgary Herald. The Buffet (18+) runs nightly features until 31 December 2026 and then closes in January 2027 for works. Elsewhere: the Eagle Bar on the gaming floor, Blaze Bar & Grill, free weekend shows at the Stage Bar, and Eagle Street Eats, a food truck, for bannock, chili, Indian tacos and Saskatoon berry dumplings.

What's on stage

The Event Centre has 2,500 seats and admits all ages. It switched to an L-Acoustics sound system in 2024, the year the YYC Music Awards gave it their Venue/Presenter honour. A Concert Night Getaway package puts two tickets and a night's stay together for C$329–C$369.

Downstairs: the gaming floor

84,000 sq ft with more than 975 slots, which run 24 hours, and 32 tables, open 10:00–03:00. High-limit rooms cover baccarat, blackjack and more. The age is 18, Winner's Edge is the Alberta-wide loyalty scheme, and renovation continues in phases through 2026 and 2027. On Tsuut'ina land, Grey Eagle Cultural Tours offer outings such as a Buffalo Paddock Tour and a museum visit.

Our take

The casino hotel to pick for a Calgary concert or a Rockies trip. Until the works end, pack for the hot tub rather than the pool.
