The room to ask for
Officially it is a Canad Inns "Destination Centre", joined to Club Regent Casino; Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries runs that casino and one other under the Casinos of Winnipeg name. Six floors, 146 rooms, no smoking anywhere; AAA's inspector called them "modest", which seems fair. Room types: a One-Bedroom King Suite, plus Two Queen, One King and One Queen rooms. AAA lists check-in at 16:00 and check-out at 11:00.

We found no pool listed, so plan accordingly.
Arriving and parking
The casino parkade is free, and the airport is about 15 kilometres, or 25 minutes, away. AAA says pets aren't accepted. Ask about the Stay & Play rate, which adds C$15 of free play for each Club Card member.
Where to eat and drink
Aaltos lays on themed buffets 17:00–20:00, Thursday to Sunday: turkey one night, roast beef another, otherwise surf and turf or ribs and chicken. Its Sunday brunch runs 10:00–14:00. Also on site: Toukies, the casino lounge; an ice-cream counter; a McDonald's.
What's on stage
Since 2014 the Event Centre has staged comedy and concerts for up to 1,300.
Downstairs: the gaming floor
Bingo, about 1,200 slots (progressive and electronic table games included), and live tables every day 17:30–03:00. Manitoba's age is 18. The hotel's own Playmaker's Gaming Lounge has VLTs, 09:00–24:00.
Our take
Good enough for a Winnipeg concert or a gaming night; not a resort, which is why it finishes just outside our ten.
