What it is

The Canad Inns Destination Centre Club Regent Casino Hotel sits next door to Club Regent Casino, one of the two Casinos of Winnipeg run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries. The hotel has 146 smoke-free rooms over six storeys; a AAA inspector called them "modest", which is fair. Room types are Two Queen, One King, One Queen and a One-Bedroom King Suite.

Casino and entertainment

About 1,200 slot machines, including progressives and electronic table games, plus bingo and live tables daily from 5:30 pm to 3 am. Manitoba's age is 18. The Club Regent Event Centre, opened in 2014, seats 1,300 for concerts and comedy. The hotel's Playmaker's Gaming Lounge has VLTs from 9 am to midnight.

Food

Aaltos runs themed dinner buffets from Thursday to Sunday, 5–8 pm (chicken and ribs, surf and turf, roast beef, turkey), and a Sunday brunch from 10 am to 2 pm. Toukies is the casino lounge; there's also an ice-cream shop and a McDonald's.

Practical details

Parking in the casino parkade is free. Winnipeg's airport is about 15 km, 25 minutes, away. AAA lists check-in at 4 pm and check-out at 11 am, and says pets are not accepted. Ask about the casino's Stay & Play rate, which adds $15 of free play per Club Card member.
