Windsor, Ontario · casino age 19+
Caesars Windsor review
Updated · facts checked
Caesars Windsor has more rooms than any other property here — 758 across two towers, most with the Detroit skyline across the river — and the 5,000-seat Colosseum, where no seat is more than 225 feet from the stage. The casino is big (2,000+ slots, 80+ tables) and the location is downtown, not an exit off the highway.
Best for: Concert weekends and a riverside city break with a lot of room choice.
Skip if: You want a pool the kids can use — the indoor pool is adults-only.
What you get
Caesars Windsor is the largest hotel in our guide: 758 rooms split between the Augustus Tower, which the resort calls family-friendly, and the older Forum Tower. It sits on Riverside Drive in downtown Windsor, looking straight across the Detroit River at the Detroit skyline — the view most rooms are sold on.
Rooms
The standard Resort Room is about 402 square feet with one king bed, a large desk, a separate bathtub and shower, and a river view. All 758 rooms went through a renovation announced in 2018; by September 2019 the Forum Tower rooms were finished with 55-inch TVs, new bedding and carpet. Suites climb from the Resort Deluxe Suite (whirlpool tub, wet bar) to the Junior Suite (separate living room; whirlpool in the Forum Tower only) and the Executive Suite, which has a five-piece marble ensuite, a TV built into the mirror, a separate butler entrance and, in some suites, a fireplace.
Check-in is at 4 pm and check-out at 11 am. When we looked at the booking page it added a resort fee of $23.40 per night, collected at checkout — budget for it.
The casino
The property's August 2023 fact sheet lists more than 2,000 slot machines and more than 80 table games, including what it called the only live craps game in Ontario, a dedicated World Series of Poker room and a 1,700 sq ft Caesars Sportsbook with 22 large screens. The casino and its bars are 19+. The loyalty scheme is Caesars Rewards, which also gets members into Colosseum presales.
The Colosseum
The 5,000-seat Colosseum is the reason many people drive to Windsor. The resort says no seat is further than 225 feet from the stage, and a July 2026 announcement confirmed that shows there are open to all ages unless stated otherwise. Upcoming dates when we checked included Alice Cooper on Friday, November 6, 2026.
Food and drink
Neros Steakhouse is the signature restaurant. The rest is casual: Legends Sports Bar, Johnny Rockets, Spago Trattoria for Italian-style family meals, Café 377 for breakfast and lunch, and a Tim Hortons on the main floor of the Forum Tower that never closes. Cosmos Lounge has live local music every Friday and Saturday; Vu Bar is the one with the skyline view. The ARIIUS nightclub left the resort in January 2026 and reopened on Ouellette Avenue, so there is no nightclub on site any more.
Pool and fitness
The indoor pool is adults-only, with a large whirlpool, deck chairs and towel service. Hotel guests also get the sauna and fitness area. There is no spa listed among the current amenities we reviewed.
Getting there and parking
Windsor International Airport is a short taxi ride from downtown. The six-floor garage at 257 Glengarry Avenue reopened fully on July 8, 2026 after more than a year of repairs. From Detroit, the privately run Tunnel Bus drops off near the resort at McDougall and University; the fare is $15 and it is cashless.
Our verdict
Pick Caesars Windsor for a concert night or a two-day city break where you want room choice and a downtown location. Couples get the best of it; families can stay in the Augustus Tower, but the pool is off-limits to kids, so plan swims elsewhere.
